Since opening our doors, we’ve been committed to helping students pursue a career they love. Silver & stone workshops provides a unique and highly personalized method of learning, creating an environment to nurture, educate and encourage creative individuals to achieve the highest level of success. Our teacher Laura has been teaching metalsmithing classes going on 4 years now and truly loves what she does. she has always found joy from being creative and that shows in her jewellery and classes she teaches.

Laura started teaching homeschool teenagers several years ago, she wanted homeschool children to still have an ‘elective’ type subject and thought Metalsmithing might be enjoyable for some. As it turned out at was a huge hit and it was taken very well from many families. Once word got out and people started to hear about what Laura offered and saw some of the creations her students were able to create she had a large amount of people asking for classes. This is when Laura’s “hobby” didn’t feel like a hobby anymore.

We moved into an actual studio and things went from strength to strength. 
Laura is now one of the most wanted jewellery teachers in Australia and her books are full several months in advance. 
we have a large number of students that have been able to start their own jewellery business, making and selling their jewellery. These students still know they can contact Laura at any time for advice (we still have most of them stay in touch and share their accomplishments with us). 
We have students travel from all over Australia to come to the workshops, the furthest being from WA Australia. We have around 90% of students returning for other workshops because they feel so comfortable, and welcomed in the studio. 

It’s clear to see Laura is in her element when teaching, it’s her passion and is living her dream career being able to share this amazing craft with so many people.
