5 DAY JEWELLERY WORKSHOP- FEB 18th-22nd

5 day beginners workshop

This is full payment not a deposit, I won’t be doing part payments for this as it’s too hard to chase people for money, so I’m really sorry I can’t offer this anymore. 

all skill levels, especially perfect for beginners as the workshop is a skill based program and is designed to teach students the basics in Metalsmithing, jewellery design, stone setting, soldering, wax carving and sand casting plus a lot more. 

All materials are included, you are welcome to bring stones if you wish, but it isn’t always possible to set those stones. It depends on shape, size and a few other factors.

many students travel from all over Australia for this workshop so we have added a local accommodation page on our website. 

What do we learn? 

Day 1- soldering skills, this is a repetitive class working on flame control and how much solder in needed. This is such an important skill to learn, it is the very foundation of Metalsmithing.

Day 2- metal stamping, we have a large collection of metal stamps, hundreds in fact! This will be our focus today, as well as some soldering. 

Day 3- Bezel setting, you will choose a stone (all included) and we will be making a ring with bezel setting. This will run into day 4 as well.

Day 4- continue with bezel setting, so we can gain as much information as possible we don’t rush bezel setting so for half the day we finish our ring. The second half of the day we start our wax carving for our cast ring. 

Day 5- we are finishing our wax ring carvings this morning and then we will start the sand casting process and cleaning our pieces. 

you leave with all of our booklets on soldering, tips and tricks, step by step projects and all the information about tools, chemicals and what you need to begin from home.

you will receive a suppliers list that has taken us many many years to compile with suppliers for metal, stones, opals, tools, and more.

Tool lists and where to buy them, or we have beginner kits in the studio you can purchase. The prices start from $300 to $1000 but there is no pressure to buy these. 
you will also receive our booklets on wax carving and sand casting process and techniques.
