Soldering workshop

-what is this class?

this is a skill based workshop, learning basic soldering skills for the day. I find once students complete this workshop they have a solid understanding of soldering basic solder joins with a butane torch, and a good understanding how important flame and heat control is when soldering good joins. 

-what is included? 
you will be using a mixture of brass wire and sterling silver wire. These are practice pieces of metal, we are not aiming for perfection or a complete piece of jewellery. We are using this wire to practice on. 

-How long does this class go for? 

This class starts at 10am and we finish at 2pm

-what do we bring/wear

please wear fully covered shoes, no baggy sleeves or pants, and long hair tied back. 
please bring some snacks or a light lunch. Water or cold drink for yourself (no alcohol). 
please bring glasses if you wear them, also it’s a good idea to have short nails, long nails make this class tricky.
